Hanover. In view of the high temperatures, it may not feel that way at the moment, but daylight saving time ends on Sunday. At 3:00 a.m. on the night of Sunday, October 30, the clocks will be put back one hour to 2:00 a.m. This also has an impact on local transport in the Greater Hanover Transport Area (GVH).

Due to the time change, Üstra is extending nighttime traffic with its light rail and buses by one hour. The night liners from Regiobus, which regularly start between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., will run twice that night, i.e. once according to summer time and once according to normal time. This applies to lines N41, N43, N56, N57, N62, N63 and N70, but not to lines N31 and N94. These only run at 2:33 a.m. or 2:23 a.m. normal time.
Local transport in Hanover: tickets are valid for one hour longer
The Ruftaxen in Neustadt (2.42 a.m.), Wunstorf and Burgdorf (each 2.35 a.m.) run twice, like the majority of the night liners. The tickets are valid for one hour longer in the GVH on this night, so that passengers do not suffer any disadvantages due to the time change.

Lines S1, S2, S4, S5 and S7 of the Hanover S-Bahn are affected by the timing. The S6 between Hanover Central Station and Celle is completely eliminated on the long weekend, Passengers are asked to use the S7. This leaves the main station in the direction of Celle at 2.01 a.m. after the old summer time and then again at 3 a.m. after the new normal time – so there is a time gap of almost two hours.

This gap also exists in the other direction – and on the other lines. The S1 from Hanover main station leaves at 2.04 a.m. summer time and then again at 3.04 a.m. normal time in the direction of Haste. The S2 runs at 1.10 a.m. summer time and at 3.06 a.m. normal time to Nienburg, the S5 with destination Hameln starts at 2.11 a.m. summer time and at 3.11 a.m. normal time.
The S4 is a special case: this tour in the direction of Bennemühlen twice at 2 a.m. because of the backward time, then again at 4 a.m. It’s the same with times in the direction of Hildesheim, but here the S4 only runs the five minutes to Hannover Messe/Laatzen. From there, a rail replacement service continues at 2:10 a.m. and at 4:10 a.m. to Hildesheim.
