The driver was killed by a hever in an accident in Prague! He hit him in the head. Rescuers warn: Secure things before driving
The death of the driver, who was intervened by the Prague emergency services some time ago, could have been narrowly avoided. In a traffic accident where three cars collided, the driver had tools lying loose in the vehicle. During the impact, the driver hit his head and caused non-life-threatening injuries. He could escape with only a minor injury.
Even a pet bottle can kill
Probably few people realize what such a water bottle can cause, for example. Upon impact, objects in the car fly apart and take on destructive force. Such a situation can then cause much more serious injury. “The higher the speed at impact and the heavier the transported object, the more serious the consequences. For example, a full 1.5 liter water bottle will behave as if it weighs over 20 kilograms when hit at 50 km/h. At a speed of 90 km/h, it will be almost 40 kilograms,” warns Jana Poštová, spokeswoman for the Prague rescue service.
Adjusting the backrest
We should not forget about the so important main supports. Correct or firm headrests can be a serious fatal neck injury. In the event of an impact, the body is first thrown forward, and then bounces back with a violent movement.
Rescuers recommend setting the upper part of the backrest parallel to or optimally 3 to 5 centimeters higher than the top of the head of the driver and other people in the vehicle. The headrest should not be too far from the head. Last year, rescuers had to intervene in almost two thousand traffic accidents. Since the beginning of this year, their number has exceeded 1,800.
