Photovoltaics in Salzburg: Draw pure energy from the power of the sun
Eder Kleinkraftwerke GmbH currently operates the largest photovoltaic system in the city of Salzburg. The three PV systems produce 1,397,719 kWh annually, around 2.2 million euros were invested.
SALZBURG. Eder Kleinkraftwerke GmbH operates the largest photovoltaic system in the city of Salzburg. In the commercial area Wasserfeldstraße, in the Itzling district, the roofs have now been fitted with photovoltaic modules over a total area of around 13,200 m2.
The solar offensive on commercial roofs will thus contribute to a sustainable energy transition. “Our goal is to make this eco-electricity, generated in an environmentally friendly manner, directly available to the local companies and our tenants in the commercial area on a permanent basis,” says the entrepreneur Sepp Eder.
Savings possible through solar energy
As the company announced in a press release, the new PV system in the commercial area should save up to 285 tons of CO2 annually thanks to its climate-friendly energy. This corresponds to about 22,800 trees planted per year.
The project in Wasserfelstraße should not remain the only one, more are to follow. Hall roofs and an open-air system in Flachauwinkl are currently being discussed and planned.
