Saturday at the racecourse in Velká Chuchla will belong to the trotters | PRAGUE | News
Chuchle Arena will once again be dominated by trotting races. This year, the penultimate racing day is scheduled for Saturday, October 29. Spectators can look forward to one of the most important matches of the entire sprint season. The highlight of the day will be the trotting St. Leger – Mayor’s Grand Prize.
“Which is actually the last classic race for four-year-old horses,” said Michaela Zemanová – a committee member of the Czech Klusácké Association.
In the six-headed starting field, the great hope of Czech trotter breeding will appear – bay Jerry. He has already taken the blue ribbon twice. And that from the Slovak derby and the second time from the Chuchle Arena.
“He is a Czech-bred trotter and he won the first two parts of the Classic Triple Crown. He won both the spring prize for four-year-olds and the Prague Derby and has great hopes of becoming the first Czech-bred trotter to win the Classic Triple Crown,” said Michaela Zemanová – member of the committee of the Czech Klusácké Association.
Four-year-old Jerry will test his strength with, for example, the horse Little Star Boko, who was still in Czech training in the summer.
“He was still in Czech training in the summer, then he was sold to Germany and today he is returning to the start of our classic race with his new German trainer and it will be such an interesting comparison,” said Michaela Zemanová – a member of the Czech Klusácké Association committee.
Another highlight of Saturday’s racing afternoon will be the continuation of the PRAGUE TV Golden Circuit.
“Our best older mare Masada, who has already won nine times this year, will compete with our absolute elite for the first time,” said Michaela Zemanová – member of the Czech Trotting Association committee.
She will compete, for example, with the horse Perceval, who won the last part of the Golden Circuit, and will have to compete with the other two derby winners. The race day will probably offer interesting sporting performances and spectator experiences. The start of the first race will be at 12:30 in the afternoon and the entrance fee is free.
