Drugs in the car. Prague – Novopacká, the police arrested a man who was carrying marijuana, methamphetamine and a kilogram tablet
AGAINST Novopacké , one of the main roads outside of Prague towards the east, the police controlled a black vehicle on the street, which they decided to subject to a routine road check. Their intuition turned out to be in the right place. “The driver was acting nervous and he was unable to put together coherent sentences,” explains the spokesperson of the Police of the Czech Republic, Violeta Siřišťová.
“Just” marijuana?
The police could not verify the suspicion that the person in question was drunk or on drugs – the man refused to submit to the orientation test. But what made it even more difficult for him was that the lustration police found that he had a valid driver’s license blocking. “When colleagues asked if there were any drugs in the car, he replied that he was only carrying some marijuana in the trunk,” the spokesperson continues.
anyway, he wasn’t telling the truth. “During the inspection of the vehicle and the driver, colleagues found him more than thirty grams of meth, seventy grams of marijuana and four kilo tablets, which contained the substance ephedrine,” says Siřišťová, adding that this substance is key to the production of methamphetamine. Thanks to this, the man is now suspected of illegal production of narcotic and psychotropic substances, but also of obstructing an official decision. He faces up to both five-year sentence.
