Writer Jo Nesbø flew to Prague to present a new book of short stories

The famous Norwegian writer Jo Nesbø arrived in Prague yesterday. Here he meets his readers and is interviewed by journalist Martin Veselovský during a moderated debate. Climbing with Adam Ondra also awaits him.
One of the world’s most successful writers of recent years, Jo Nesbø, landed at Václav Havel Airport in Prague yesterday at noon. The purpose of the visit is the presentation of his new book Rat Island and other storieswhich was published by Kniha Zlín publishing house.
He last met Czech readers in 2015, when he presented the novel Policie, the tenth part of the series with detective Harry Hole in the lead role. He visited Prague for the first time in 2012.
What is the writer most looking forward to in Prague? “Definitely to meet the readers. And I also want to see if the city has changed in any way since I was here,” Nesbø confided immediately after landing.
Although he has a demanding three-day program ahead of him, he is also looking forward to the whirlwind of the big city. “I’ll go for a walk, that’s the first thing I’ll do, then maybe I’ll go to a bar in Prague,” admitted the writer.
When asked if there was anything specific he would like to see in Prague, he replied: “I have already explored Prague in the past. But now I’m looking forward to not being in Brno, where I’ve never been before. And I’m really looking forward to climbing with Adam Ondra,” he did not hesitate to reveal part of the plan outside of work duties.
Today at the Edison Filmhub cinema, participating in a panel discussion with readers, followed by an autograph signing. Tomorrow he will then move to the aforementioned Brno, where he will climb several rock routes in the rocks together with the biggest climbing icon Adam Ondra. In the evening, he will attend the gala premiere of the documentary film Adam Ondra: Push the boundaries. The Bontonfilm company will release the film soon.
Nemesis, Snowman, Savior, Leopard or Rat Island and other short stories – that’s just a brief list of the detective bestsellers of the Nordic writer, musician, originally trained as an economist and financial analyst. Jo Nesbø started the successful detective series in 2013 with the novel The Bat, in which the quirky criminal Harry Hole appears.
The series brought Nesbom a huge success, he received several awards for it. In addition to books with Harry Hole, he also writes stories for children. His books have sold over 50 million worldwide, have been translated into over thirty languages and are published in over a hundred countries.
