Shooting during the intervention of URNA in Prague, the young man ended up in artificial sleep
The police intervened on Monday around four o’clock in the morning in Zakšínská Street in Střížkov, Prague.
“As part of the intervention, under unified command, a police officer from the Rapid Deployment Unit used a service weapon against a suspected foreigner,” Police Presidium spokesman Ondřej Moravčík told Novinkám, adding that the police provided first aid to the man.
After the confession, the rescuers put the young man into artificial sleep. “The 25-year-old patient was transported to the hospital in a serious condition,” said ambulance spokeswoman Jana Poštová.
Neither the rescue nor the police specified the extent and nature of the injuries.
According to information from Novinek, the criminal investigation took place together with the Customs Administration in several places, in addition to Strížkov, also in Letňany.
The police did not specify what kind of case it is, i.e. what suspicions and in relation to which sections the investigators are examining them.
“Currently, official actions are still taking place at the site. As is the case with all such interventions, in this case too it will be thoroughly evaluated,” Moravčík added to the investigation and the shooting itself.
URNA belongs to the national police units and its specific task is mainly the fight against terrorism. The elite team also deals with interventions against dangerous criminals, for example against kidnappers and other perpetrators of especially intentional crimes. The task of these specialists is mainly to detain suspects.
