Running out of Time: The climate change relay has arrived in Greece
The relay race We’re running out of time which aims at awakening for the climate changestarted on September 30 from Glasgow where the previous UN climate change conference took place and after crossing 7,767 kilometers in 18 countries, it will end on November 6 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt to convey to the leaders taking part in this year’s Conference that “time is running out”.
The Greek section of the relay is coordinated by Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature and its president and vice president of the International Foundation for Environmental Education, Nikos Petroureceived the baton with the solar boat of the municipality of Prespa.
“Delighted we welcome today the baton of Running out of Time, in Greece the last station in continental Europe and indeed in a special place, in Greece Prespaa biodiversity hotspot, shared between three countries, a place where man coexists harmoniously with nature, a place where collaboration to tackle real problems is practiced every day, both locally and transnationally,” said Mr. Petrou in a video posted on the Facebook page of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature.
