Jakub Stárek is the new mayor of Prague 6. TOP 09 was dropped from the game
Prague 6, the second largest part of Prague with more than 100,000 inhabitants, has a new mayor after eight years. On Monday, Jakub Stárek (ODS) was elected by 29 votes from the 45-member council, replacing Ondřej Kolář (TOP 09) after eight years. A new coalition formed by Prague 6 SOBĚ and STAN, with the support of the Greens, in addition to ODS and KDU-ČSL. TOP 09 dropped out of the city management, for which it is an unfortunate loss, because Prague 6 was a key political base party.
The representative also elected other members of the management. In addition to Mayor Jakub Starek, who is to be in charge of communication with the public, legal services, foreign relations, digitization and preservation of monuments, Petr Prokop (STAN with the support of the Greens) was elected as the first statutory deputy mayor. It will have asset management, economic activity and a strategic plan. Mariana Čapková will be deputy mayor for Prague 6 SOBĚ, who will be in charge of education and investments in education. Other deputy mayors were elected Václav Koženy (ODS and KDU-ČSL) and Marián Hošek (ODS and KDU-ČSL). The city council is completed by Ondřej Matěj Hrubeš (ODS and KDU-ČSL), Zdeněk Hlinský (ODS and KDU-ČSL), Petr Palacký (STAN with the support of the Greens). The unvacated councilor is Jan Lacina (STAN with the support of the Greens).
