The dream of the UFC did not come close, Lu Kai in Abu Dhabi lost the fight for the final of the Asian Pyramid, which is organized by the American organization. In June, the Chinese fighter, who lives and trains in the Czech Republic, won in Singapore, on Sunday he fought again, but he missed the final, the Korean Lee Jeong-Yeong was beyond his strength.
“Unfortunately, we are recording in the first minute of the first round. The opponent hit Lukáš better in the first shootout. Today was not our day, next time will be better,” Gym RPG, where Lu Kai trains, posted on his social media.
Advancing to the finals was the last step towards a direct fight for a contract with the UFC. This move was successful for the opponent.
“Last week, he behaved quite arrogantly, so I’m really looking forward to the cage to make him smile a little bit. In Singapore, he finished my friend in the first round, I take it as a bit of revenge. But everything will be seen when the match starts, I’m ready for anything,” Lu Kai said during fight week.
The fact that there was not a friendly atmosphere between the two fighters was evident at the public weigh-in for the media, where there was a minor scuffle provoked by the Korean.
“Lukáš worked like a horse. Physically, he is well prepared. We have the opponent ready, we know exactly what we want, where we want to push it. We wish more for ourselves. The spectators will see everything in the match. Lukáš’s head is also well set. Now just let it all fit well, which is of course also quite difficult, after all, it’s such a small UFC,” coach David Vyvázil realized after a moment.
As it turned out on Sunday, the match went to the opponent.
