Prague – The Prague coalition Together (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL) offered the Pirates and STAN negotiations to create a majority coalition in the capital. According to her, the parties can find agreement on programmatic, organizational, procedural and personnel issues. At the same time, together with Prague, he proposes six mandates for himself in the city council, including the position of mayor, three mandates for the Pirates and two for STAN, in the city council. Zdeněk Zajíček told ČTK today on behalf of the negotiating team of the Spolu coalition. In the elections in Prague, the Spolu coalition won before the second ANO movement and the third Pirates.
The members of the Spolu negotiating team already said after the municipal elections that they preferred a coalition with the Pirates and STAN on the government’s plan. However, no agreement resulted from any negotiations with the parties, the Pirates and STAN, among other things, demanded that Praha Sobě be included in the negotiations, which the Spolu coalition refused. Pirates and Prague announced the formation of the Alliance for Stability this week, which means that they will proceed exclusively together in negotiations.
The current offer to negotiate with the Pirates and STAN of the Spolu coalition was based on the previous post-election negotiations. “We are convinced that we are able to find the most balanced agreement between these parties on programmatic, organizational, procedural and personnel issues that are necessary and necessary for the good administration of the capital city of Prague,” Spolu representatives said today. Based on the negotiations and election results so far, he proposes that the position of mayor should go to the ODS, the first deputy mayor would be for the Pirates and the other deputies for TOP 09 and STAN.
“The distribution of gestures for individual areas in the number of capital cities would be a matter of further negotiation, including decision-making principles that would stipulate that in key voting issues it would be necessary to obtain a greater decision-making quorum than a supermajority of votes, or procedural principles of conciliation or another procedure for broader agreements between the parties of the city coalitions,” added Zajíček, who is the chairman of the Prague Spolu club. Spolu is ready to discuss the mentioned issues with representatives of the Pirates and STAN on Monday or Tuesday. If the parties were to agree at the meeting, it could be Zajíček coalition agreement signed next week Zajíček told ČTK this afternoon that Spolu is still waiting for the answers of potential coalition partners on the call for cooperation.
According to Zajíček, there is no reason for Praha Sobě to be a member of the coalition, as he stated when asked by ČTK. “It is obvious that the Pirates will finally have to decide if they will prefer cooperation with Praha Sobě over an offer to cooperate on the ground plan of the government coalition, i.e. Spolu, Pirates and STAN,” he said. ČTK is seeking statements from representatives of the Pirate Party.
After this year’s municipal elections in Prague, the Spolu coalition won 19 mandates in the 65-member council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates will have 13 representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has 11 mandates, five representatives will have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD movement with three mandates.
