Czech Ambassador to Chisinau: The future of the Republic of Moldova is in the family of the European Union PUBLIC .MD
The future of the Republic of Moldova is in the family of the European Union, and the Czech Republic will support this initiative of Chisinau. This is the statement of the Czech ambassador to Chisinau, Stanislav Kazecky.
Invited to the Prime Time show, from PRIME, the diplomat declared that, currently, the Chisinau authorities are on the right path and must firmly continue reforms, especially in the field of justice and the fight against corruption.
The Czech ambassador in Chisinau mentioned that the status of a member country of the European Union cannot be easy and fast, but he was convinced that the Republic of Moldova has every chance to achieve this desired goal. The diplomat offered the example of the Czech Republic, which in eight years traveled from the status of a candidate country to that of a member.
“We support the European future for Moldovans. There are some necessary reforms in the Republic of Moldova. There is the justice reform, which must be solved and another problem, often mentioned, including by President Maia Sandu, is the fight against corruption. There are steps that have been taken and we hope . to continue in this direction,” said Stanislav Kazecky.
Stanislav Kazecky assured that the Czech Republic will continue to help the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, as it has been doing for 17 years already. Prague will help Chisinau even in these times when, including the European Union, it is going through a deep crisis.
“We cannot leave the Republic of Moldova in this situation without the help of the European Union, on behalf of the Czech Republic, we will not continue with the same projects. Now it may be more important than ten years ago, because in a crisis, they say in the Czech Republic, you know . better your friends”, said the Czech Ambassador in Chisinau.
The diplomat, together with his family, has been living in the Republic of Moldova for a year and a half.
“We are settled in Chisinau, we place our parks in the Capital. We have been in Valea Morilor for a long time. My wife is with the stroller and our baby. After a year and a half we met nice people and they will be our friends for the rest of our lives”, said the Czech Ambassador in Chisinau.
During the Prime Time program from PRIME, the Czech ambassador in Chisinau also spoke about the war in Ukraine: “If we leave the invasion of Russia in Ukraine as a fact and do nothing against it, there are other countries that can be attacked. We don’t want . war, we want peace in Europe. We must prove that it is inadmissible for one country to invade another country. The policy of supporting Ukraine is a correct policy and it is a policy that must continue.”
The Prime Time show airs every Thursday from 9.30pm on PRIME. The interviews conducted by the journalist Alex Luca can be watched in replay, every Saturday, at 21.00.
