Another global company establishes a regional center in Hungary
BlueVoyant established its European regional center in Budapest, the number of staff at the Budapest operations center will be doubled in the next year, the cyber security company told MTI. Since its foundation, in 5 years, a customer base of more than 700 people has been formed in 20 countries and has become the world’s leading cyber defense company. In Hungary, their clients are mainly financial companies, media companies, and the government sector. This year, out of six countries, Hungary was chosen as the cyber security operations center, so the digital ecosystem of hardware is monitored and protected from here.
BlueVoyant has completed several funding rounds, including the most recent one reaching $250 million.
The Budapest operations center, which serves as the background for the European expansion, was also implemented as part of the investments. Róbert György Rácz, the head of BlueVoyant Europe and the managing director of BlueVoyant Hungary, said that the most important and continuous investment is the formation and regular development of the appropriate human resources and expert team.
American-based BlueVoyant opened its newest headquarters in Budapest for this reason: it is available here from the start, and it strengthens the company’s European presence with unique human expertise. He added that more than 20 people work at the Budapest center, and this number is expected to be doubled next year with continuous improvements, such as the relocation of part of the American research and development tasks to Hungary. In response to a question about sales revenue, he said: BlueVoyant does not publish detailed financial data, the company has doubled or tripled its revenue every year during its 5-year existence, and currently has 650 employees in 30 countries.
He touched on the fact that the Hungarian market is highly polarized.
The cyber protection of foreign companies and high-tech companies present in Hungary is the same as that of Western European companies.
While domestic manufacturing companies, SMEs and startups that cannot afford to build their own IT security team need help. Many domestic businesses are not yet aware of the extent to which they are exposed to such attacks. At BlueVoyant, they are actively working to ensure that this is possible and developed in Hungary, he added.
