Prague 10 will support families of children with severe disabilities
The tenth district will support a total of 24 families of children with severe disabilities. On Tuesday, its Council approved all applications that the City Hall received as part of the subsidy program for the second half of the 2021-2022 school year. The total amount is 490 thousand crowns.
The financial support of Desítka partially compensates the costs of families who care for children with severe disabilities. And the goal of the subsidy program is also to support the integration of children into everyday life.
“The care of children with severe disabilities is exceptional in all respects. Among other things, of course financially – ensuring their schooling involves considerable expenses. That’s why we help families and cover part of their costs every six months,” said Michal Kočí (Pirates), who is a councilor for the social sector. “However, I also perceive our subsidy program symbolically: I am fully aware that it is very challenging to take care of a child with a disability, and all parents or caregivers have my deep admiration,” adds councilor Kočí.
The subsidy program was announced by the city district in December of last year, and is divided into two school semesters. Now the town hall has approved support for the period from February to June this year, for all 24 applicants. They will be supported with a total of 490 thousand crowns.
