how to reach Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport this Friday?
“Most of the employees of Transdev rail Rhône, operator of Rhônexpress, will be on strike this Friday, October 21. 100% of the tram driving staff will be mobilized,” the CGT and Sud unions announced in a press release. They are protesting against the modification of their working hours on January 1, 2023.
According to them, it is company executives, who have the permit allowing them to drive the shuttle from Part-Dieu in Lyon to Saint-Exupéry airport, who provide a partial service between the Meyzieu ZI station and the Saint-Exupéry airport.
Only every 30 minutes
From Meyzieu to the airport, the 1st departure of the Rhônexpress will be at 6:21 a.m., the last departure at 9:21 p.m. From the airport to Meyzieu, the first departure will take place at 6.30 am, the last departure at 9 pm. The shuttle will only run every 30 minutes (usually the Rhônexpress runs from 4:25 a.m. to midnight, every 15 minutes).
From the Part-Dieu or Vaulx-en-Velin la Soie station, you must therefore first take the T3 tramway to Meyzieu ZI then board the Rhônexpress. Saint-Exupéry airport, to reach Lyon, will also allow you to use Rhônexpress, then the T3.
The CGT and Sud accuse the management of Transdev of “reducing jobs and degrading working conditions to preserve its financial margins. »
The unions also believe that Transdev wants “its ability to reduce the bill” as part of the future allotment.
