In order to speed up the negotiations on the Prague coalition, we will now proceed exclusively within the framework of the Alliance for Stability composed of @piratipraha AND @PRAHASOBE. The Prague Pirates and Prague have concluded an Alliance for Stability and will proceed exclusively together in the post-election negotiations. The reason is the slowness of the post-election negotiations so far. Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) and Mayor Jan Čižinský (Praha Sobě) told journalists this on Thursday. Pirates and Prague have 24 votes in the 65-member city council. According to ANO leader and member of parliament Patrik Nacher, the formation of an alliance will, on the contrary, hinder negotiations.

“Negotiations are not progressing as they should. It is four weeks after the election and there are no tangible results and only now are the program teams meeting. Negotiations are slow, that is an objective reality,” said Hřib.
The negotiation process is the main reason why both parties decided to sign the agreement. “The goal is to give the meeting a new impetus, because the meeting of the constituent assembly is approaching. In other cities, coalitions have been agreed, but in Prague they still haven’t,” said Čižinský. In addition, there are no programmatic differences between the parties.

At the same time, however, both parties, according to Hřiba and Čižínský, respect Spolu’s request to fill the post of mayor. Hřib explained the decision to Spolu leader Bohuslav Svobod (ODS), who, according to him, “took note”. Hřib also announced the decision to STAN leader and deputy mayor Petar Hlaváček, stating that STAN, which has five mandates in the council, can join the alliance.
ANO leader Patrik Nacher said that the Pirates and Praha Sobě also have a share in the slow pace of negotiations. “Conceptually, it (the alliance) goes against it because of the number of possible combinations, plus others say they can agree with both or none. On the other hand, it is their right to conclude an alliance,” he said. According to him, negotiations would be accelerated if the parties defined their program priorities and then looked for points of intersection.
Negotiations on the form of the new coalition began in Prague right after the elections on Sunday, October 2, when Pirates, Praha Sobě and STAN met in the afternoon and Spolu se STAN in the evening. Since then, it has become Pirates Together, which also dealt with ANO. However, no agreement has yet emerged from any of the negotiations. The Pirates and STAN again raised the demand that Praha Sobě be admitted to the negotiations, which Spolu still refuses.
This year’s municipal elections in Prague were won by the Spolu coalition, which won 19 mandates in the 65-member council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates will have 13 representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has 11 mandates, five representatives will have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD with three mandates.
