Pirates and Prague have concluded an Alliance for Stability. They will proceed together in the negotiations — ČT24 — Czech Television
“Negotiations are not progressing as they should. It is four weeks after the election and there are no tangible results and only now are the program teams meeting. Negotiations are slow, that is an objective reality,” Hřib said, adding that their representatives feel a great responsibility towards the city and its residents.
The negotiation process is the main reason why both parties decided to sign the agreement. “The goal is to give the meeting a new impetus, because the meeting of the constituent assembly is approaching. In other cities, coalitions have been agreed, but in Prague they still haven’t,” said Čižinský. In addition, there are no programmatic differences between the parties.
“From now on, we will proceed in the post-election negotiations exclusively together, of course with respect to the coalition’s request TOGETHER to fill the post of mayor of the capital,” added Hřib.
According to Hřiba, Svoboda took note of this
Hřib explained the decision to Spolu leader Bohuslav Svobod (ODS), who, according to him, “took note”. Hřib also announced the decision to STAN leader and deputy mayor Petar Hlaváček, stating that STAN, which has five mandates in the council, can join the alliance.
Negotiations on the form of the new coalition began in Prague right after the elections on Sunday, October 2, when Pirates, Praha Sobě and STAN met in the afternoon and Spolu se STAN in the evening. Since then, it has become Pirates Together, which also dealt with ANO. However, no agreement has yet emerged from any of the negotiations. The Pirates and STAN again raised the demand that Praha Sobě be admitted to the negotiations, which Spolu still refuses.
The SPOLU coalition won the municipal elections in Prague this year, winning nineteen mandates in the 65-member council. The second ended with ANO with fourteen mandates. The third Pirates will have thirteen representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has eleven mandates, five representatives will have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD with three mandates.
