Minneord, Bærum Høyre | In memory of Per Lund-Mathiesen
Per Lund-Mathisen died on October 22, aged 85, after having been in poor health for the past few years. A nearly full Bryn church gathered friends, friends and associations for a farewell.
At the time, Per was Norway’s youngest civil engineer when he graduated from the University of Edinburgh (Heriot-Watt College) aged just 21. After military service, mainly with FFI, he took further studies at the Copenhagen Business School.
After several positions in Copenhagen, London and Oslo, he was employed by ABB, where he remained for the rest of his working life. Per held several positions in ABB, sister manager of the area of high-voltage devices.
The Norwegian Electrotechnical Association (NEF) benefited greatly from Per, both centrally and in the Oslo branch. He was, among other things, general secretary for 11 years, during which he also helped to develop NEF-Oslo in several areas. For his efforts over many years, the Norwegian Electrotechnical Association has awarded him the badge of honor DET LENKEDE LYN.
Per was particularly engaged in ensuring the continued publication of the member magazine ELEKTRO during a difficult period. In all areas, it became a very effective journal, which is now called Energiteknikk. Today, this is the leading technical journal in the field of electricity and energy.
Several years of involvement took up Per in Tekna where he was a member of the main committee for Electricity and Energy. There he was involved in making important decisions for the future of the field at Tekna.
Per has been on Bærum Høyre’s executive board for more than 10 years and has served two terms in the municipal government. He also sat for several years on the board of Sandvika vel. He, together with his Hanne, did a great deal of work in Kolsås and Eiksmarka Lions Club over many years, also as president for several periods.
Per’s two daughters Helle and Bente, 4 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren mourn a family head who was very busy with the family in Norway and Denmark.
I have lost a good friend and talented colleague.
