Masters of gestures Familie Flöz are returning to Prague
After a three-year break, he entered the theater space Slaughterhouse78 return Familie Flöz, the famous mask theater, which, with its distinctive mastery, releases halls all over the world. The new FESTE will be launched in Prague only three times, and only from November 24 to 26.
As is typical for the ensemble, here again he crosses all language barriers. Expressive, delicate masks and virtuoso physical theater they discuss the complexity of the world of our day; from climate change to the growing problem between wealth and poverty to the unstoppable progress that dominates us. Familie Flöz will transport the Prague audience without words into a poetic one a mixture of bitter tragedy and dark grotesque to a lavish mansion by the sea, where preparations are underway for the wedding. “This is a very simple story that tells about the complexity of today’s world. It deals with the climate crisis, for example, and the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor,” says one of the creators and actors, Thomas van Ouwerkerk. In addition to him, actors Andres Angulo and Johannes Stubenvoll will perform on stage. Their pantomime performances only illustrate sounds and music.
Familie Flöz roams the world stage with a show of incredible poetry, born from a combination of commedia dell’arte and German expressionism. Since its foundation in 1994, the international group of artists has already performed in 43 countries around the world.
Familie Flöz from its repertoire of performances in the Holešovice 78m space Hotel Paradiso, Infinita and Teatro Delusio, which together were visited by almost 4,000 spectators. Familie Flöz fans as well as viewers who do not yet know the unusual artists can look forward to the incredible liveliness of the masks, the lightning-fast transformations and the melancholic mood of this famous physical theater.
