Climate activists are blocking city freeways in Berlin – in several places
There are traffic delays again in Berlin. In several places there are climate activists on the streets.
Numerous climate activists in Berlin are again obstructing traffic in the morning. At around 7:15 a.m., the traffic information center reported that the A100 from Spandauer Damm in the direction of Wedding is currently completely closed. Accordingly, demonstrators are in the area of the Rudolf Wissel Bridge on a sign bridge. The tunnel at Tegel Airport in the direction of the city is currently not passable.
But that’s not all: When asked by t-online, a police spokeswoman said around 8 a.m. that there were blockades at a total of seven locations around the A100. Accordingly, access and exits on Seestrasse, Alboinstrasse, Jakob-Kaiser-Platz, Wexstrasse and Innsbrucker Platz are also affected. There is currently no further information about the number of activists on site or the traffic jams.
Climate protection activists from various groups had announced campaigns for Berlin this week. Activists penetrated the Federal Ministry of Finance on Monday, and on Tuesday morning activists blocked the entrance area of the Federal Ministry of Transport, among other things. They call for immediate action to limit the climate crisis.
