Paris and Dijon largely beaten
Paris and Dijon both lost on Wednesday in their respective European Cup matches. The Parisians were beaten 86-100 at home by Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Eurocup, while the Dijonnais lost 88-68 at Malaga in the Champions League.
Last of Betclic Elite with five defeats in five games, Paris had taken advantage of the Eurocup last week to finally open its counter of victories (on the floor of Ankara), but the players of the capital did not confirm to l occasion of the second day of the second Cup in the continental hierarchy. In their Georges Carpentier hall, they lost quite heavily to Hapoel Tel Aviv, leader of the Israeli championship (after two games), with a score of 86-100. Paris nevertheless won a first quarter rich in points (33-28), but Hapoel Tel Aviv, supported by many fans, tightened their defense in the second quarter, conceding only ten points, to return to the locker room leading 43-55. The Parisians could regret this catastrophic second quarter (lost 10-27), because they then resisted well. They even went down to -3 (60-63) in the 26th minute, but Tel Aviv responded with an 11-0 to regain a comfortable lead. Rebelote in the last quarter where Paris returned to -4- (79-83) 4’45 from the final buzzer. However, the Israelis didn’t panic and managed the money-time very well, going 17-7 to finish. The Frenchman of Hapoel, Jaylen Hoard, temporarily passed by the NBA, hurts the Parisians, with 16 points and 9 rebounds on the clock. Tyrone Wallace (17pts, 5rbds, 3pds, 4int) ended up as the top scorer in Paris. The capital club is now 5th in Group B (but there are still 16 group matches to go), before going to Trento, penultimate, next week.

Dijon does not chain
In the Champions League, the third European Cup, Dijon had also won its first match, at PAOK Salonika, but it lost heavily in the second, on the floor of Malaga. Faced with this regular Euroleague team, the JDA, sixth in Betclic Elite, lost by twenty points: 88-68. The Andalusians, carried by the champion of France with ASVEL Dylan Osetkowski (16pts, 4rbds) and by Dario Brizuela (15pts) in particular, led from start to finish during this meeting. Carried by 54% of address (against 44% for the Dijonnais), they had fourteen points in advance after the first quarter (25-11), eighteen at half-time (43-25), thirteen at the half hour of play (63-50) and therefore twenty at the end. The Burgundians, who did not exist during this meeting, were however able to count on a Markis McDuffie with 18 points and 6 rebounds. A match to forget, therefore, but it will be necessary to bounce back in two weeks against the Italians of Sassari, current bottom of the group. Remember that only the fourth and last of the group will not see the rest of the competition in January.
