Hannover 96: Despite own goal against Dortmund! Kudos for Bright Array MBI | Sports
Despite own goal bad luck in the cup |
Big praise for Arrey-Mbi
It couldn’t have started any worse.
Bayern loan Bright Arrey-Mbi (19) was in the 96 starting eleven for the first time – and gave Dortmund the lead after eleven minutes.
Horror start for Arrey-Mbi!
Youssoufa Moukoko tried to put the ball back from the baseline and hit Arrey-Mbi’s left outside instep – from there the ball rebounded into the near corner.
Leo Weinkauf didn’t look good at 0:1 either, but couldn’t help it at all. The keeper had oriented himself in the direction of the middle of the goal in anticipation of Moukoko’s return pass.
The DFB evaluated the 0:1 as an own goal. What bad luck for debutant Arrey-Mbi!
the defensive talent made a very decent game in the back three. Luka Krajnc (lumbago) had to have an injured passenger.
Big praise for Arrey-Mbi despite own goal bad luck!
Coach Stefan Leitl praised his unlucky fellow: to Arrey-Mbi: “He played a great game. He was good in one-on-one fights and good in the continuation of the game. We can all be happy to have such a young talent with us.”
Leitl was also very satisfied with the overall performance of his team: “Compliments to my boys. The boys implemented everything we wanted to play. We played a good game. Overall it was a good performance but the result is disappointing. We have to pull out the positive. The realization is that we are on a very good path. Now it’s time to regenerate well. In a few hours everyday life in the league will continue.”
After the two difficult games against Bielefeld (2:0) and Dortmund, 96 have to play in the 2nd division in Nuremberg on Saturday.
Leitl: “We have to categorize that. Today was the cup, now it’s back to the 2nd league. We want to win in Nuremberg.”
