shock and emotion in Pas-de-Calais, where the girl’s parents isolated themselves
A tribute must be paid to Lola in the commune of Fouquereuil. The mayor of the town spoke for a long time with Lola’s parents, who have not yet been able to see their daughter’s body.
The emotion is strong in the town of Fouquereuil, in Pas-de-Calais. This is where the family of Lola comes from, the 12-year-old girl found dead in a trunk in Paris last Friday.
The parents have still not been able to see their daughter
In this commune near Béthune, where Lola’s paternal grandmother lives, the young girl was often seen walking the family dog in the street. Neighbors the delicate as being “full of life”.
“The whole family does not deserve what is happening to them,” neighbors point out to BFMTV. “We hope that there will be justice done. But that will not bring her back, unfortunately,” laments a resident of the town.
Having “no family” in Paris, Lola’s parents took refuge in Fouquereuil, to go through this ordeal out of sight. They no longer turn on the television, no longer answer the telephone, they addressed to BFMTV, explaining that they would speak “when the time is right”.
“The next few days will be the hardest”, we still named the girl’s parents. As of Monday afternoon, they still had not been able to see Lola’s body and were awaiting information from investigators as to when they could see their daughter.
A white march in Paris
The mayor of the town spoke for a long time on Monday with Lola’s parents. He specifies that a tribute to Lola will take place in Fouquereuil on Friday from 5.30 p.m. in the communal hall.
In Paris too, flowers, candles and little words accumulate in front of Lola’s building and the college in the 19th arrondissement where she was educated. A psychological unit has been set up in the school.
The mayor of the 19th arrondissement, François Dagnaud, was present there on Monday to “give his support” to the relatives of the teenager. A white march is to take place soon in the capital.
On Monday, the main suspect in the murder of Lola, a 24-year-old woman, was indicted. While in police custody, she mentioned having had a dispute with Lola’s mother when she lived with her sister, who lived in the same building as the girl and her family.
