Today in Prague 6, representatives of ODS with KDU-ČSL, STAN with the support of the Greens and Prague 6 signed a coalition agreement. ČTK was informed by Jakub Stárek (ODS), who will become mayor. The coalition will have 23 votes in the 45-member council, which will elect the new district leadership at the constituent meeting this Friday. Prague 6 is the third largest Prague district by population, with about 107,000 people living in it.
In addition to the mayor, the coalition of the ODS with the KDU-ČSL will get four more seats in a nine-member line with competences in the field of transport, territorial development and the budget. STAN, with the support of the Greens, will have three seats in the council focusing on property, the environment, security, culture and sport.
Prague 6 You will get the last seat in the board of education. The deputy mayors will be Petr Prokop (STAN) and Mariana Čapková (Praha 6 Sobě). In addition, the new coalition will introduce so-called council officers, who will work for the borough in the same way as full-time councillors.
“In particular, it will be in the area of investments, public space and openness. In total, 13 representatives will be freed to perform the function. Their number will thus increase by one compared to the 2018 contract,” said Stárek. He added that the coalition contract includes an obligation to provide the opposition with a share in decision-making, and opposition representatives will have a majority in the control committee.

Among the program issues, according to the future mayor, the coalition wants to introduce free lunches for schoolchildren, senior taxis, build apartment buildings to support young sports clubs during the energy crisis, create a strategic concept for the development of the city district or expand school capacity. The parties want to approve the complete program statement in January next year.
The elections in Prague 6 were won by the coalition of ODS and KDU-ČSL, which won 11 mandates. TOP 09 occupied seven seats, as did Pirates. After six mandates, Praha 6 Sobě, STAN with the support of the Greens and the ANO movement won. Tricolor, SPD and independent candidates have two representatives.
Until now, the coalition of TOP 09, KDU-ČSL, ODS and STAN ruled in Prague 6 under the leadership of Mayor Ondřej Kolář (TOP 09). This year, after being elected to the Chamber of Deputies, he did not aspire to the post of mayor, he was in third place on the TOP 09 candidate list.
According to the number of inhabitants, Prague 6 is the third largest Prague district after Prague 4 and Prague 10. It is the largest by area. It includes the cadastral territory of Břevnov, Dejvice, Liboc, Ruzyně, Střešovice, Veleslavín, Vokovice, part of Bubenče and Hradčany.
