Blockhouse in Olšany Bezovka: First reconstruction, then privatization
The latest reconstruction will concern a panel house, on the ground floor of which is the Bezovka shopping center with the Albert store. According to the earlier statement of the outgoing mayor of Prague 3, Jiří Ptáček (TOP 09), the work will include, in addition to the insulation of facades and roofs, the replacement of windows and loggias or the repair of entrances to the house the creation of a new commercial ground floor with a cafe and an arcade that will be locked at night.
Privatization
The house in Kubelíkova street will be the last “block house” that the city district will reconstruct and then privatize the apartments. In August, the district completed the reconstruction of houses in Blahoslavova street, in June the repair of another house near Olšanské náměstí began. Last year, representatives of the municipal district approved the sale of apartments in panel houses in Roháčová and Ondříčková streets. Their tenants criticized the fact that the price was used against previous privatizations based on new price assessments. According to the management of the town hall, it was still very advantageous with regard to the market environment in the metropolis.
In recent years, Prague has been struggling with a housing crisis due to high housing prices. There are altogether about 30,000 apartments owned by the municipality and city districts out of the original number of 194,000, which after 1991 became the property of the city. Privatizations followed, reducing the municipal fund by more than 80 percent. The outgoing city management declared that he no longer wants to sell the apartments and, on the contrary, wants to increase the municipal fund. Nevertheless, urban districts decide on their own apartments.
The Bezovka block of flats will be completely renovated
