The representatives of Prague 2 elected the management of the town hall at their constituent meeting today. Based on the coalition agreement signed on Tuesday, September 27, seven representatives of Together for Prague 2 (ODS and TOP 09) and two representatives of the ANO movement will sit in the district council.
The proposed candidates were elected in a secret ballot by the majority of votes of the new representatives. Alexandra Udženija (ODS), who ran in the municipal elections as the head of the coalition candidate Společné pro Praha 2, will therefore continue in the position of mayor in the coming term.
The coalition of the ODS and TOP 09 parties won with 35.6 percent of the votes cast and won 14 mandates in the municipal council. In its premier participation in the elections, the Prague 2 group achieved second place. For the gain of 19.2 percent of the votes, it has seven mandates, as well as the third Pirates (18.5 percent).
The fourth was the ANO movement, which has four mandates. In the council of Prague 2 there are also Mayors and independents (1 mandate) and SPD (2 mandates).
“Prague 2 has become an integral part of my life during my 16 years of political activity at the local town hall. I am ready to continue working for Dvojka with my main goal, which has always been to improve the quality of everyday life of local residents. Before the elections, we declared that Prague 2 is ready for the future, and now we have a chance to prove it,” said re-elected mayor Alexandra Udženija (ODS).
The council also elected the other members of the Prague 2 Municipal Council. Jan Korseska (ODS), Michal Zuna (TOP 09) and Jan Recman (ODS) were elected deputy mayors, and Jan Kolář for the ANO movement. Jana Černochová (ODS), Jaroslav Šolc (ODS) and, newly, Tomáš Halva (TOP 09) will act as city councillors. The last newly elected councilor is Jitka Urbanková (ANO).
The representatives also elected the chairmen of the council’s committees. The control committee will be led by Robert Veverka (Pirates) and the financial committee by Jana Bašusová (Praha 2 Sobě). Both committees of the Prague 2 Municipal Council will each have eleven members, whose staffing will be decided at the next meeting of the council.
