“The stress test takes place in three stages. Four four-axle lorries with a total weight of 120 tons will be parked at the designated places and will carry the most weight in two places in the region and then in the middle. With the help of measuring devices placed under the bridge, we will then determine its deflection. This results in a simulation of the load on the bridge in normal traffic, which is given by calculation,” said Dana Zikešová, spokeswoman for the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD).
This bridge over the railway siding, the second in order on the construction section in the direction of Prague, is 156 meters long, consists of six spans and is 14 meters wide. “The load test takes place with the bridge completely closed at a time when the bridge object is completely equipped – the roadway, railings and guardrails are made on it. Its newly built supporting structure has a service life of up to a hundred years,” said the spokesperson.

The expansion of the six-kilometer Loun bypass into a highway with an estimated value of almost one billion crowns excluding VAT is being implemented for the ŘSD by Eurovia CS and Herkul. “We plan to complete it in the second half of 2023. We are currently completing the lane in the direction of Prague, which we plan to put into operation for drivers on October 27,” explained Zikešová.
After half of the freeway is open, all traffic is diverted to it, and construction workers begin work on the current I/7 road. They will replace the structural layers on it, including the asphalt, and expand it.
