Coni Siena and the Municipality of Siena together for Sienese sport
The goal is to lead to the awareness that moving and practicing sport must become a habit
Also at the beginning of the school year the usual projects of organizational motor activity resume and carried out by CONI Siena with the contribution of the Municipality of Siena.
The Giocosport “Learn I Play” project will concern the six municipal preschools with 14 classes and the Giocosport “the child chooses sport” will be aimed at the Primary school with 20 participating classes, about 500 pupils.
For years, CONI Siena and the Municipality of Siena have been pursuing the goal of promoting physical activity in the kindergarten and primary school, which are still a little empty, and only the fifth classes will be able to take advantage of the specialist teacher.
We have consolidated the concept that physical activity has countless positive effects and that studies are now agreed that continuing to move regularly produces numerous benefits. Physical activity, in fact, has positive consequences on growth and psycho-physical development. It guarantees children a healthy and harmonious development. But getting active doesn’t just have short-term effects. The effects are also long-term. Physical activity, in fact, is one of the main forms of promotion for well-being in adulthood.
The goal is to lead to the awareness that moving and practicing sport must become a habit.
“Every year it is always a great satisfaction to restart motor projects !!” – says Paolo Ridolfi CONI Siena Delegate – “Thanks to the Municipality of Siena, to the Ass. Paolo Benini and his Offices, Sport and Education, which are in constant contact with us to better organize everything. Knowing that so many little pupils practice physical activity at school makes us proud. Every year, together with the Municipality of Siena, we add small bricks to those that will make today’s children become adults “.
“Education, education, learning – comments the councilor for sport of the Municipality of Siena Paolo Benini – merge into sporting activity. This is why we define sport as a training ground for life. Considered since ancient Greece as fundamental not only for exercise itself, but also for education and upbringing. The gymnasium, in fact, was at the center of the Greek where the boys were formed intellectually also through the practice of the sporting community, its rules and discipline. This is why we carry out this type of collaboration with Coni, which involves so many children in the area and has been very successful. It is important to aim for growth and development that takes the sports model as a reference rather than focusing on niche and sectorial sectors, waiting for the whole to be seen ”.
