Příbram Hospital is looking for heroes Central Bohemian Region | News
The hero is in each of us – that’s the name of the new project of the Příbram hospital, which will support blood donors. Other regional health facilities will gradually join the campaign.
“It was on the initiative of the hematology staff and the idea of our PR, press spokesperson, when we are in the time of covid, when the de facto operation of the hospital was closed, so blood donation was also closed,” said Stanislav Holobrada, director of the Příbram Regional Hospital..
And it was during this period that the lack of donors was most evident. Whether it was first-time donors or those who visited the Příbram Regional Hospital regularly. The most valuable liquid in the world was missing and at that time the idea for the campaign was born.
“I perceive that this campaign is extremely important and, unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer donors. I also donated blood when I was twenty-five. I donated it a few times, but then other life stages came and I stopped being a blood donor. When I think about it today, I’m sorry, so it’s about motivating all those who can help to do it too,” said Petra Pecková, governor of the Central Bohemian Region.
“Thirty-eight percent of the population needs blood at a certain time and only ten percent donate it. And unfortunately, because there are limits, you must be over eighteen years old and must not be older than sixty-five, so that generation of those elderly donors from those past times is leaving. And the departure is greater in percentage terms than the arrival of new ones,” added Stanislav Holobrada, director of the Příbram Regional Hospital.
The project has many components. One of them is a video clip in which the Czech band Pro tebe and well-known football player Jan Koller are the main characters.
