BERTRANGE – A new very high voltage line will pass through Luxembourg. It will be created from Bertrange to Aach (Germany), via Bofferdange.
To meet the continuous increase in electricity demand, Creos will modernize its very high voltage infrastructure. With 170 pylons over 50 km, a 380,000 volt line will be created from Bertrange to Aach (Germany), via Bofferdange. It must replace that of 220,000 volts between Heisdorf and Trèves/Quint. Presented in 2020, the 380 project at more than 200 million euros is progressing little by little. First expected in 2026, the line should be active between 2027 and 2029.
After Junglinster on Wednesday, information meetings are scheduled for Thursday at the Steinsel Leisure Center (6 p.m.) and next Wednesday at the Atert center in Bertrange (6 p.m.). The opportunity for the public to question the experts.
An environmental impact study with different routes (more than 100 km studied) and six locations for the transformer station near Bofferdange was carried out. In the event of validation by the Ministry of the Environment, public consultations will take place in February 2023.
