Autumn’s most popular weekend trips
Autumn is an attractive period for weekend trips. Many would like to have a few days of holiday use, and it is the European cities that we prefer to visit now. The most popular travel destinations are London and Copenhagen, while Milan is increasing the most, according to recent figures from Ticket.
TRAVEL: – With the harvest also comes the desire for big city experiences. Sun and bath don’t tempt like much right now, then we’d rather have a trip to a glorious big city for a few days’ change of environment, says Ellen Wolff Andresen, Head of Marketing and Administration at Ticket.
European cities are also favorites this harvest. After the summer beach holiday, the focus is more on experiences, regardless of whether it is about museums, restaurants or other sights. With a weekend trip, we fill up our energy reserves ahead of the dark months ahead. Europe’s beautiful cities are only a short flight away, something that gives maximum time at the destination.
London is again at the top of the top list with an increase of 33 percent compared to 2019. Here you will find a huge selection of restaurants, cafes, shopping, nightlife, art and culture, while many of the areas of the city are rather known as a picturesque small town and a gigantic world metropolis. Perhaps not so strange that Norwegians love London.
On the top list we both Copenhagen and Stockholm, but it is Milan that increases the most this harvest with an increase of 160% compared to 2019.
Manchester, which has long benefited from the Solskjær effect, has a decline of 49% this autumn. But here we can probably expect that the Haaland effect will eventually take effect and the orders will increase again, says Ticket.
