Once again, the cheese fondue restaurant takes over the premises of IJscuypje during the winter months to make it a long, warm and cheesy winter. Melt Nine Streets in the Runstraat, of course, also melt through.

And we say wanting ‘again’ for owners Joost Hammann, Gijs Benders and Johan Karsemeijer, the Westerpark is familiar territory. Joost: “We had a great winter here two years ago with our cheese fondue. Matthijs Visscher becomes host and manager of Smelt Westerpark. Mathijs: “It is great to return to the Westerpark with our fondues. We have selected the cheeses in France together with the Cheese Room, which makes our fondues even tastier. I can’t wait to get started.”

This season there is a choice of five different types of cheese fondue, consisting of a combination of different cheeses, selected by the Kaaskamer of Amsterdam. The cheese fondue is served with fresh seasonal vegetables and bread from Bakkerij Mama.

Countdown Cheese fondue season
From October 12, Smelt Westerpark will open its doors for dinner on Monday, Wednesday to Sunday from 17:30. Apparently, Smelt also makes a genius fondue toastie, which is also on the menu here at the weekend. We will definitely taste it.
