“San Marino excluded from the EU Summit in Prague, what a blow!”
The setback suffered by the Republic of San Marino for the exclusion from the Prague Summit of the 44 Heads of State and Government of 6 and 7 October last, must necessarily be analyzed to understand what were the reasons that prompted the organizers not to invite at the top 5 countries in any case belonging to the European continent. The idea of President Macron to establish a European Political Community could represent an opportunity for San Marino to recover a part of the international political space given that the path of association with the European Union precludes the possibility for the Republic to bring its own contribution of ideas and proposals on the choices that our continent adopts or intends to adopt. He chooses, moreover, that San Marino will still be required to respect if he intends to participate in the common market and not find himself in the isolation that years of wicked policies had led him to. On the two major issues that were debated in Prague, San Marino could intervene since the first, that of energy, directly concerns the fate that will befall our citizens starting from next winter and the second, that of European security, directly affects on the hopes for the future for present and future generations. Having made our voice to promote greater attention to renewable energy sources through which prevent the energy saving mode systems that prevent heat dispersion, should be an opportunity to reflect, at least for a minute, the real big countries to face the crisis rather than temporarily getting lost in little contingent profits on the “Price cap”, which represents a completely effective solution. But above all the Republic of San Marino, as it did with the message of the Regency to His Holiness Pope Bergoglio, could have said that war is not the solution to resolve the conflict, but it is necessary to adopt all possible strategies for the resumption of the negotiation of Rhythm. To this end, the Government is asked to understand for what political and / or organizational reasons the Republic of San Marino did not participate in the Prague Summit, the first important meeting of the European Political Community which, according to the creators, Premier Emmanuel Macron and the President of the Charles Michel Council of Europe, must understand: “the democratic European nations that adhere to our base of values” In case the exclusion depends on a refusal by the San Marino government, we ask to understand the logic of this choice and to know who what led to taking such a penalizing decision. If the exclusion depends on a decision of the organizers, we ask why our country has not made itself heard in advance so that this does not happen and why it has not yet adopted any public position to be made known to the leaders of the European Union and to the 44 countries that instead they participated.
