BEDEKER GURMÁNA What surprised the Slovak-Hungarian classic in the Čunov line? | Čunovo | Urban areas

There is no shortage of exotic restaurants in Bratislava, but if you have a taste for Hungarian cuisine, you have to look hard. We tested the line for you in the Čunovo district, which has been operating for years, but not every Bratislava resident knows about it.
If it seems to you that the restaurant Attila Čunovská csárda is at the end of the world, where few people go for lunch, then expect that you might have a problem getting a free table.
Around noon, the terrace under the umbrellas was full, colleagues from the financial administration came to eat, cyclists from the Danube embankment, people who work in the area, and locals… However, you can also sit inside and it’s nice there, in a country style . There is also a pond outside in the garden, they keep sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs here, and a cuddly white cat with each eye of a different color may come to greet you at the table.

The environment is pleasant.
In a relaxed environment, you can enjoy meals prepared according to classic Slovak-Hungarian recipes, served by the chef and owner of the company Attila. However, the restaurant is definitely not one you don’t have to count on.
From the lunch menu, we decided on Baked zucchini with mozzarella (€8.90) on a torn salad with tomato sauce. It was a light light meal with a combination of flavors that we enjoyed. We also appreciated the refreshing fresh salad and the portion size – nothing excessive, but just right for us. He was also pleased with the styling, the food looked really good on the plate.

There were others Fried chicken livers (€9.90), with which we had boiled potatoes with butter and tartar sauce, a proven classic. The portion was high quality, hearty, a short big meal, although we chose from the menu. The roasts were obviously fresh, we also highlight the crispy triple wrap, which was just right, it didn’t overpower the taste of the tender meat.

Aye Bean soup with sausage (€6.90) was a full-fledged main dish for us – thick as it should be, with sliced smoked meat, sausage and homemade gnocchi. Undeceived ingredients, no fatty meat, big mottled beans and everything quite tasty… This is how we imagine an honest bean house.

On the Hungarian goulash (€14.90), which we chose from the menu, we had to wait quite a long time, unlike ordering from the menu. The portion was nicely served in an elegant deep plate, the beef juicy and soft, except for two “tender” cubes, we couldn’t eat them, they went to the side. There was enough juice and it was excellent, no thickening with flour. We also appreciate the homemade bun dumpling, which we also enjoyed.

When ordering Fish soup (€8.90) Prepared from three types of fish, we envisioned something in the style of halászlé, which is the pride of Hungarian cuisine. In addition to the meat and onion, ground red pepper, which has a dark red color, full flavor and aroma, adds flavor to this specialty – in this case, however, they spared the honest pepper. The soup was thick enough, but not spicy enough for our taste, so we added chili sauce, which was brought to us upon request.

We expected the fish soup to be more “peppery”
For it Grilled goose liver (€11.90) on a toasted potato dumpling was a delicacy that could not be faulted, it was a pleasant taste and visual experience. There are more recipes for preparing this luxurious piece of meat, in the Čunovská line they will also offer you goose pate with apricot and pear chutney. However, we are glad that we chose. The taste of the delicious liver went well with the sweet baked pear and fruit chutney, it was made even more special by blueberries and pieces of strawberry, a real delicacy.

We were interested in the name Attila salad (€11.90), so we ordered that one as well. We got a plate of fresh vegetables with chicken, egg, bacon chips and croutons – it was like “Attila’s” version of Caesar salad. There were enough of all the ingredients, the portion was also enough, the bacon was crispy and the chicken meat was very tasty. However, we would welcome if we had less dressing in it, you can always add it, but not take it away.

BEDEK GOURMÁNA we are the new Indian big dinner: Fast lunches, slow dinners
Less than three months have passed since the opening of the new Indian restaurant in Ružinov, and as we found out, they have already discovered many popular exotic tastes. It was full inside, even one dish from the menu (vegan!) ran out shortly after twelve, so they had to refill.
