‘I can’t wait to be in Greece again and I hope to Olympiakos in the future’
Daniel Pontense, in an interview at NOVA’s Premier League Kick off, expressed his impatience to be back in Greece, and also at Olympiakos.
Interview on the NOVA show, Premier League Kick off, granted by Daniel Pontense. The Portuguese footballer of Wolves spoke about the Premier League, Costas Cimikas, but also about Olympiacos, to which he hopes to return in the future.
Podense’s statements in detail:
On his adaptation to the Premier League:”My joy to come here, in the best league, with the best players. I enjoy playing here every week. I’m living the dream.”
About his duel with Chimika: “Tsimikas is an amazing player and now he has plenty of playing minutes at Liverpool. He is constantly improving with several good players around him. He will play even better in the future. The match between us will be difficult for him. He knows how I play, but he can’t stop me. That’s how it is”.
For Olympiakos: “I can’t describe the moments. I still receive love and friendly feelings from Olympiakos. I still have in my mind all the games I compete in. I can’t wait to be in Greece again and I hope to Olympiakos in the future as well.”
About his relationship with Olympiakos friends: “It is always nice to have the support of Olympiakos friends. I left three years ago, but I still get their messages. Even if I go to the opposite country of the world, I will meet a friend of Olympiakos, who will say good things about me. I feel very good for the club and the fans of the team.”
On his differences in relation to Pontense of Olympiakos: “Now I play in a different position. I’m a different player. I fight more in the center and think more about the game. Honestly, I’m not Olympiakos’ Pontense, who ran right or left all over the field. Of course I can still do that. Now my eyes are on the goal and I think more. I’m more of a footballer now and not a kid running up and down.”
For his goal: “My goal for this season is to reach a milestone. I want to reach 20 goals in total in England but I still have a way to go but I believe I can do it. As far as the national team is concerned, it is a dream for me to be in the world cup. I will fight for this until the end. If I don’t make it, I’ll have to fight here to get my numbers and games up and then we’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”
For the Premier League favourite: “Manchester City will be favourites. Because of Haaland. No, I wouldn’t say that, because Haaland wasn’t at City in the last few years and they were champions. The most important thing for them is that this is a tough team in most matches. They don’t lose points, like the other teams. They are a very cohesive team, which is why they are favorites for the championship.”
