The number of currency exchange transactions of Russians in September increased by 15%
MOSCOW, 6 October. /TASS/. The total number of currency exchange transactions carried out by Russians in September increased by 15% compared to August. Experts of Russian Standard Bank attribute this to a more favorable exchange rate than in neighboring months, they cover data on a credit institution (available to TASS).
“Russians’ interest in currency exchange has grown. The total number of such operations in September 2022 increased by 15% compared to August. Banking analysts noted the trend of growing interest in cash currency exchange, stressing that this, in turn, is associated with a more favorable exchange rate than in individual months. online”.
At the same time, online conversion leads in terms of the amount of waste disposal operations. So, 71% of all exchange transactions were online. A month earlier, this ratio was almost the same – 70% for non-cash currency exchange.
According to the bank’s statistics, Russians are still more likely to choose US dollars for foreign exchange transactions, they account for 63% of all conversions. At the same time, the average check for buying dollars in cash dollars in September 2022 is larger than for selling – 1,037 against 438, respectively. In the online exchange of currency checks, the average amount of a single purchase is $25,479 and sales is $1,046.
The average purchase amount of European currency in cash last month increased to 1,056 euros, sales – 792. At the same time, a check for online purchases of European currency in September reached 2,584 euros, sales – 899, Russian Standard data was confirmed.
As part of the study, the bank’s experts studied September volumes, average checks and the number of cash and non-cash foreign exchange transactions in Russian Standard in August 2022.
