In a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart, István Nagy drew attention to the fact that the promotion of bilateral trade relations is important for the economies of both countries, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement. As many areas as possible should be identified in the field of agriculture and the food industry, as well as agricultural services, where we can offer each other competitiveness. Our country is ready to receive Uzbek specialists in Hungary to study the best practices in terms of seed development, viticulture, horticulture, organic production and other topics, he added.
The minister welcomed the signing of the agreement between the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Uzbek partners in order to promote educational cooperation. István Nagy indicated that there is a long tradition of winemaking in Hungary, which has undergone enormous development since the regime change: more and more wineries are producing premium category wines. And our country is happy to share the knowledge and experience of Hungarian specialists with their Uzbek colleagues. During the meeting, the head of the ministry also drew attention to the possibilities of irrigation development. In Hungary, there are companies with a lot of experience that can help with the replacement, renovation, and maintenance of machines and pumps used for irrigation and the production of the necessary spare parts, as well as with modern solutions used to improve water quality and the design of water pumps – to the Minister of Agriculture.
