Two days after his first-choice performance on the field of Montpellier (17-19), the Toulouse stadium trained in bright sunshine and some 27 degrees. Many returns have taken place, and as expected, the internationals Antoine Dupont, Anthony Jelonch and Mauvaka peatput to rest for the trip to Hérault, were present for training this Tuesday, October 4, 2022. They are logically applying for the reception of Clermontthis Saturday, October 8, at Ernest-Wallon (9:05 p.m.).
Pierre-Louis Barassi back in training
The good news in the ranks of Toulouse, whose infirmary is filled (Baille, Cros, Graou, Ntamack, Ahki, Chocobares, Placines, Ahki), is the return of Pierre Louis Barassi.
The international center (3 selections), arrived in the off-season from Lyon, had been released at the break during the first match of the Top 14 season at Bordeaux-Bègles (25-26). In question: an ankle that has been bothering him for a while now. This Tuesday, he took part in the entire session. He is available to the staff for the match against Clermont.
Fouyssac and Faumuina injured
The victory in Montpellier, however, left its mark. Out after a shot, the center Pierre Fouyssac was absent on Tuesday. A knee is affected, and no risk will be taken with him, slightly injured in one knee last year. He will take exams this Thursday, and he will most likely be forfeited for the match against Clermont.
The right pillar Charlie Faumuina he suffers from a muscle glitch in a calf and remains uncertain about the ASM. This Tuesday, the young hooker Guillaume Cramont did not participate in the collective session, being in the hands of physiotherapists. Finally, the full-back/winger Juan Cruz Mallia, who has played all 6 Rugby Championship matches with Argentina, is observing a second week of vacation. He will be back next Monday.
Richie Arnold fixed this Thursday
Finally, Stade Toulousain appealed the 4-week suspension of its second line richie arnold, expelled against Pau for a “high tackle”. The Australian will be heard this Thursday, October 6, and fixed at the end of the day. Toulouse will then know whether or not they can count on him for the arrival of Clermont. Knowing that the colossus Emmanuel Meafouexpelled against Montpellier, is automatically suspended for this meeting.
