Toulouse: the first five paying and secure bicycle garages, put into service in the Indigo car parks
The Indigo and Toulouse Métropole car parks are offering new bicycle parking spaces, in five car parks, from 3 October. They are secure and accessible by subscription.
This is one of the novelties of the new school year for Toulouse cyclists. In five Indigo car parks from this Monday, October 3 (Esquirol, Saint-Etienne, Carmes, Saint-Cyprien and Europe), then twelve eventually, secure parking spaces for bicycles are available. They are called Cyclopark.
Sockets for recharging the batteries, inflation terminal, lockers…
To access it, you will need to take out a subscription at €4 per month for the first year (then €6 per month). A magnetic card gives access to an enclosed space, placed under video surveillance, equipped with hoops to hang your bike but also various services: lockers to store your helmet, inflation pump, sockets to recharge your electric bike, or equipment repair tools (screwdrivers, Allen keys).
“These car parks respond to the need to fight against theft, in particular of electrically assisted bicycles, and to the need for associated services, such as charging and lockers, accessible by users who provide their padlocks themselves”, explains Patrice Carmaran. , manager of the Indigo car parks in Toulouse.
Each car park equipped with a Cyclopark includes floor markings at the entrance, with a cycle lane and a cycle pictogram. Bicycles pass the entrance to the car parks without taking a ticket, and without opening the barrier: the barriers have been cut to allow bicycles to pass on the right.
Six other Cycloparks by the end of 2022, the Capitol car park equipped at the start of 2023
Cyclists use their magnetic badge at the entrance to the Cyclopark, always located on the first level of the car parks. “It is advisable to get off your bike at the entrance to the car park access ramps, especially in rainy weather, for safety reasons”, indicates the Indigo representative.
By the end of 2022, six other Cycloparks will open in the Indigo car parks: Saint-Michel, Saint-Aubin and Carnot in November; Marengo, Jean-Jaurès, Matabiau and Ramblas in December. The Capitol car park, which currently has the most spaces for bicycles (467), will be equipped with a 350-space Cyclopark (also the largest), as well as 100 free-access spaces, in the first quarter of 2023.
