With a program all fired up, nourished by varied and exciting proposals, the TheaterdelaCite (the ex-TNT) will resume its beautiful colors of yesteryear – that is to say before this damn Covid which has passed on so many shows. Several highlights will punctuate this 2022-2023 season.
The Biennale, the big highlight
The Biennial – International Festival of Living Arts Toulouse Occitanie -, will bring together something 30 structures and 200 artists in several places in the city. “The ThéâtredelaCité will take part in 17 proposals, explains Eva Salviac, communications officer. “Société en Chantier”, “La Collection” – our contribution to the Swiss focus of the Biennale, are amazing, funny and surprising shows. There will be comedy, a “conference of things” by François Gremauddancing, with “Via Injabulo”on October 15, which will end with an exciting “Kuze Kuse Evening” frenzied, “OSCAR” by Arno Schuitemaker, on October 5 and 7, English Theater (” TO LIKE “, by Alexander Zeldin on October 11 and 12), and many other proposals. »
Highlights of the season
After the Biennale, other captivating events await us (27 proposals from December 2022 to June 2023!): “The Asleep”, a rap story by Sylvain Levey and Marc Nammour to enjoy with the family; the ” Notre Dame of Paris “ by Wallace Worsley in 1932 in a cine-concert with the Orchester d’Harmonie H20, presented with the Cinémathèque; “Larsen C”whose design and choreography are by Christos Papadopoulos, will be presented by Place de la Danse as part of the Here & There Festival on February 9 and 10, 2023 or the marvelous “Uncle Vanya” by Anton Chekhov, directed by Galin Stoev, from January 10 to 14, 2023; “Night of Ashes” by Simon Falguières: 11 a.m. with breaks, catering: a day of theatre!
Ariane Mnouchkine, a monument in Toulouse
This season rue Pierre-Baudis will experience a summit, a Himalaya: “Island of Gold” (Kanemu Jima), the latest creation of the Théâtre du Soleil by Ariane Mnouchkine, presented by the ThéâtredelaCité and partnership with Odyssud Blagnac (Haute Garonne)) from November 9 to 27, 2022.
The summary of this highly anticipated show (tickets are selling out like a Stones concert!) is enough to launch dreams and imagination: caught in a political storm, the Théâtre d’Or breaks the chains and moorings and becomes the Golden Island. Its gold is not that of mines and banks, it is that of hospitality, the innocent gold that will make it possible to organize a great party. We are already quivering with happiness and impatience.
