Rennes Airport. Chalair launches its new line to Toulouse
Chalair aviation has already flown from Rennes airport in the past. In 2005, to Mulhouse. Then in 2007, to Bordeaux. A line abruptly interrupted by the Covid-19 crisis. This time, it’s a new start for the airline based in Caen (Calvados), since it offers a connection to Toulouse.
A 48-seat aircraft
The first flight took off on Monday October 3, 2022. It is offered five days a week (Monday to Friday), with a daily round trip. A 48-seat ATR 42 takes off every morning at 9:20 a.m. from Toulouse, then leaves in the other direction at 11:15 a.m. from Rennes. The flight takes only 1 hour 25 minutes, whereas it takes more than 7 hours by train, as there is no direct rail link between Rennes and Toulouse.

“We mainly target customers who need flexibility and frequencies. This new line completes the existing offer in terms of timetables », says Jérôme Latrasse, deputy general manager of Chalair. The destination is also served by EasyJet from Rennes, with flights at the end of the afternoon.
Up to 12 times per week
“From now on, Rennes-Bretagne airport is connected to Toulouse up to 12 times a week. In 2019, before the health crisis, it was the third most produced destination at our airport, with nearly 100,000 passengers per year., underlines Chivoine Rem, the new director of the platform. Arrived in June in the Breton capital, he previously managed the airport of Toulon-Hyères (Var).
If the new Rennes-Toulouse line keeps its promises, Chalair plans to double the number of flights by summer 2023, in order to allow a round trip on the same day.
