5,000 offers to take in Luxembourg
The federation of temporary work companies in Luxembourg is organizing a temporary work fair in Yutz on Monday 3 October. Is this a new fact?
Fabrice PONCÉ, president of the Fedil employment service (FES): “We organized a first similar show last April in Belval, but it didn’t have the success that was proposed. Today, we want to test the formula on the French side, where we have the best chance of meeting candidates. There will be other appointments in the greater region. »
You mentioned 5,000 vacancies, that’s huge. What types of positions will be offered?
“Yes, the volume is enormous, but in Luxembourg, all companies lack candidates! This is true for temporary work agencies but also for companies which traditionally recruit directly and which today also entrust us with their offers in order to find profiles. There are offers in all areas: hotels and restaurants and construction, of course, but industry also lacks production workers, labourers, engineers and team leaders. There are positions in the tertiary sector: in accounting (with a decent level of English), in secretarial work. There is also a lack of profiles in IT and some in banking…”
The journey to Luxembourg is a hindrance for many people. What arguments do you use to attract Moselle candidates?
“The first factor is of course the salary. Luxembourg expects two indexes in 2023, this means a 10% increase in remuneration. Regarding white-collar workers, you should know that 80% of those who take a fixed-term contract today will be hired within six months; in industry, 15% to 20% of profiles will be hired at the end of the mission […] In the interim, we have retained people who lack experience from a fund for alumni. All the agencies use this device, you have to know it”
Monday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Amphy.
