Doubling of the RN 124
Jean-René Cazeneuve, MP for Gersa press release on a progress report concerning the doubling of the RN 124. Environmental and archaeological studies are completed. Works to connect Gimont and Isle-Jourdaina stretch of 13 kilometers, are announced for the beginning of next year.
Last Friday, I spoke with the director of the Regional Department of the Environment, Planning and Housing of Gers who told me that the works of the structures must begin at the beginning of 2023, for the dependent section Gimont at Isle Jourdain.
Several companies have responded positively to the call for tenders for the entire project, the bids are currently being studied.
End of work in 2027?
“The completion of the RN 124 remains one of my priority files”, underlines the elected representative of the Gers. “We are maintaining the course of a final end of the works for 2027”.
In February 2022, Jean Castex, then Prime Minister, came to inaugurate the Gimont bypass.
Carole Delgaregional president Occitaniahad then motivated an “exemplary for the environment” project which “made life easier for residents and businesses, while experiencing nuisances”.
