Journalist found guilty of assault
A former Ekstra Bladet journalist was found guilty on Tuesday 27 September of several sexual assaults against children. The 47-year-old man must also have been in possession of large quantities of abuse material.
This is reported by several Danish media, among others Denmark’s radio (DR), BTas well as the former employer Extra Magazine.
The journalist was indicted for having “infringed the dignity” of a total of 31 children in 167 cases in a period between 2011 and 2015.
Three of the children were his own.
“Indecency violation” is defined according to Danish legal practice as a sexual act or expression that exceeds a person’s limit for what is considered appropriate, such as exposure, unwanted touching and sexual remarks.
The court in Roskilde found the man guilty of all charges except one.

Considered rape
According to BT, six of the conditions were so serious that the public prosecutor considered them to be rape. These concerned four girls aged four to eleven years in the period 2012 to 2013.
The journalist himself believes that it was just four relationships, and not six. He denies rape, but nevertheless acknowledges unwanted touching.
“The six cases concern video sequences where the defendant touches the girls’ abdomens while they sleep. The court admits that it should be combined into four charges instead of six”, writes Danish BT
The man must have filmed the assaults and stored the videos on the hard drive. According to Extra Magazinewhere the 47-year-old worked until his arrest in April last year, the man has admitted to having been in possession of 3120 video clips and 20,090 photographs.

Shared pictures of own children
The 47-year-old also acknowledged several matters in court, including cases of “grooming”, where he got underage girls in the USA, South Africa, England and Sweden to perform sexual acts on themselves or others through various online forums.
However, he claims that he had no intention of offending his own children, whom he must have made to dive lightly clothed or naked, so that the genitals were visible. He must have photographed and/or filmed this. He must have shared the material with others in several cases.
Final judgment is expected on 26 October.
