Two spectacular victories for the U17s and the U19s
Opposed to Nice in the Derby, Manu Dos Santos’ men came back to win 4-3, while Frédéric Barilaro’s proteges also won 5-3 in Marseille.
Full house for the two teams of the Academy! Despite the absence of certain players who left for selection, the U17s and the U19s did not shake and offered themselves two prestigious victories against Nice and Marseille, in order to continue their respective good series, and stay at the top of the rankings.
A victory in the last seconds for the U17s
Let’s start first with the U17s who opposed the Aiglons for the traditional derby of the Côte d’Azur. At the end of a prolific match in goals, the Red and Whites won with a comeback and a goal scored in the final seconds.
The game got off to a bad start, however, and they trailed 2-0 in the 35th minute. However, they react immediately and equalize before half-time through Joan Tincres and Ladji Camara. Again behind the third but from Nice in the 65th minute, Manu Dos Santos’ men did not panic and were turned on the mark by Nacim Dendani, before Yannick Dodo offered an incredible victory in the 90th minute. The U17s therefore won a third victory in a row with four goals scored and remained in second place behind Saint-Etienne.

The U19s smoke their heads
Superb victory also for the U19 on the ground of Olympique de Marseille for the first shock of the season. On the product of their last two brilliant successes (4-0 at Istres then 7-0 against Blagnac), the Monegasques started the match on a high note since they were already leading 4-1 from the 33rd minute thanks to a triple of Soufian Awragh and a goal from Lucas Michal. The latter even offers a double just after the recovery (48th).
The two goals conceded at the end of the second period did nothing to change this magnificent success which allowed them to take the lead in Pool D on goal difference over Montpellier and… Olympique de Marseille. Next meeting next Sunday at home against Saint-Etienne.
