Tickets for sights more expensive – salzburg.ORF.at
tourism
Those who visit Salzburg’s cultural attractions or commercial destinations will pay significantly more in 2023. Because of the enormous increase in prices, admission prices are being adjusted, according to operators. Heating, electricity costs and expensive investments are given as the main reasons.
Material, employees and above all energy have become much more expensive again in the past year, according to operators of tourist attractions in the city and country.
Different doctrine at castles
You should also increase the prices for excursion destinations for the coming year, says Maximilian Brunner, head of the castles and palaces administration of the state of Salzburg: “We will have around five percent higher prices at Hohensalzburg Fortress, in Hohenwerfen there will be no increases because we are dying already had in the previous year. We haven’t had any increases in Mauterndorf for a long time. There is now a palace park and a new drawbridge. We will now raise the prices by eight percent.”
Wolfgangsee, Schaf-, Mönchsberg plus five percent
On average, this corresponds to a price increase of around five percent. The situation is very similar with the tourism companies of Salzburg AG. It owns, among other things, the Schafbergbahn, Wolfgangsee-Schifffahrt and the Mönchsbergaufzug. Managing Director Daniela Kinz emphasizes that no price will be increased this year: “That will no longer be possible next year. We have to increase all attractions by five percent.”
Kinz and Brunner emphasize that this is still moderate compared to the inflation rate of a good nine percent.
