SU Dives-Cabourg hosted this Saturday, September 24, 2022 FC Rouen 1899 as part of the 4th round of the Coupe de France. A prestigious poster against one of the historic clubs of French football. A poster even too prestigious because the Divais took 45 minutes to enter the game.
The game
A prestigious and perhaps even too prestigious poster because the Divais took 45 minutes to enter the game. In a first period characterized almost only by the goal of Adil Hitsouss from the 6th minute, the men of Philippe Clément almost seemed paralyzed by the event. The locals could even have found the equalizer in stoppage time in the first period, but Mickaël Marchal’s shot, six meters from goal, was not powerful enough to deceive the vigilance of Jeffrey Baltus. 0-1 at the break.
The second period started again on other bases with a divided team which sought to free itself and which could have obtained unty penally. A return to the match which was sawed off at the root by a superb second but from Christopher Ibayi on a counterattack (0-2). Mass was said. The Rouennais then managed the end of the match… and as Christopher Mayulu came out injured, SU Dives-Cabourg ended the match with ten players. The Divais have, despite everything, managed to reduce the score in stoppage time thanks to a goal from the head of Théo Fontaine (1-2). However, it was too late to reverse the situation. SU Dives-Cabourg is eliminated from the Coupe de France.
