Scientific manuscripts seminar, ITEM (ENS, Paris)
Scientific manuscripts seminar, 2022-2023
ITEM – Institute of Modern Texts and Manuscripts
In this seminar organized on scientific manuscripts, adopted in the Émergence(s) project “Mathematical drafts”, we will focus on the archives of scientists, and will pay particular attention to drafts. Starting from the hypothesis that these working manuscripts, intermediate texts developed during scientific practice, are part of scientific production itself, we will study these documents insofar as they allow us to better understand the formation of texts and the making of knowledge, and to understand the dynamics and multiplicities of scientific and mathematical research and writing.
This seminar is open to anyone interested in scientific manuscripts and archives, scientific writing, and, of course, the history of knowledge and the history of science.
The sessions take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ENS, 45 rue d’Ulm in theaters: LETTER 3 on 07/10 then INFO 1 on 04/11, 02/12, 13/01, 10/02, 10/03 , 05/12.
Coordinator: Emmylou Haffner
