The fifth aerial tour of Bulgaria started from Dolna Mitropolia airport
Bulgarian Air Force Foundation with Chairman Brigadier General O.Z. Spas Spasov, together with the Association of Aircraft Owners and Pilots in Bulgaria (AOPA) with chairman Ivan Nedyalkov and the Association of Older People of Aviation in Bulgaria (ASAB) with chairman Nikolay Nikolov organize the Fifth Air Tour of Bulgaria, dedicated to the 110- th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian combat aviation, the 85th anniversary of the awarding of the combat flags to the aviation divisions and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian Air Force Foundation.
The fifth air tour is organized and conducted with the help of the command of the Bulgarian Air Force and under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force Major General Dimitar Petrov.
Hosts of the launch of the tour with the “Georgi Benkovski” Air Force Base with Chief Brigadier General Julian Radojski and 12 Aviation Base with Commander Colonel Petar Bankov.
For participation in the 5th Air Tour of Bulgaria, 20 airplanes, 2 gyroplanes and the airplane “Zlin” of VVVU “G. Benkovski”.
· The beginning of an aerial tour of the Motherland was not given in the distant year 1917, but then it failed to complete according to the plan of the organizers, due to technical failures. Later, in 1926, a really well organized tour was held, with airplanes produced in Bulgaria. which enjoys great public and media interest. This tour is called the First, and from it date the following ones up to the present day.
· The second was held in 2012, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Bulgarian combat aviation.
· The third was held in 2015 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the first flight of the Bulgarian plane in Bulgaria, with designer Asen Yordanov.
· We held the fourth last year – 2021 as a continuation and consolidation of the tradition.
Today we launch the Fifth Air Tour. Which is characteristic and new.
– We start from the native air force school “Georgi Benkovski”.
– As part of the tour, motivational flights will be performed with students from the Sports School “Georgi Benkovski” – Pleven and first-year students.
In this school, the visitors and participants of the event will be shown classrooms, the Pilatus aircraft simulator, the Technical Repair Base.
– As a stage of the tour, there will be a landing at Bezmer combat airfield.
– One of the flights will fly over Stara Zagora – a salute to the veterans of the 23rd Combat Helicopter Regiment.
– In one of the flights, the national flag and the flag of the Bulgarian Air Force will be carried. These flags will be raised in the city of Dobrich in honor of 71 years since the construction of 26 intelligence air bases. And in this case, today’s generation shows respect for the generation in the last year of the Cold War.
– An important moment of the announcement of the initiative of the “Bulgarian Air Force” Foundation with the support of the Air Force Command for the restoration of the Air Force.

– Start of the tour on September 23 – from Dolna Mitropolia Airport. The start will be given by the Head of the school Brigadier General Julian Radojski.
Landing at Balchik airport – rest
On the route to Balchik, if the weather permits, it will fly over the airports: Kamenets, Shtrklevo, Dobrich and over the city of Dobrich – where the flags will be raised on October 16.

On the route to Bezmer airport and then, if the weather conditions permit, fly over the summer Ravnets, Stara Zagora, Uzundzhovo and Cheshnegirovo.
