Portugal presents new European campaign for Iberian Wines
ViniPortugal, the Interprofessional Wine Organization of Portugal, in partnership with its Spanish counterpart, OIVE, presented, this Tuesday, September 20th, the new European campaign for Wines from Spain and Portugal, in the Wine Tasting Room, in Lisbon.
With the support of the European Union, ViniPortugal and OIVE launch a new promotional campaign unprecedented in the history of Iberian wine. With the motto “Feel The European Quality With Wines From Spain and Portugal”, this is one of the many actions programmed in the joint program of the entities, which will last for three years and will show the quality and winemaking tradition of the two.
The event’s outline includes the presence of the President of ViniPortugal, Frederico Falcão, and the General Director of OIVE, Susana García Dolla, as well as other institutional representatives and associations that support the development of the wine sector.
During his speech, Frederico Falcão highlighted: “This is a European promotional campaign that also aims to cover tourists visiting Portugal and Spain, with the aim of providing information about the quality wines available in both countries. In other words, we want to make international tourists aware of Portuguese and Spanish wines, their history, culture, pairings… and thus encourage them to consume responsibly.”.
The campaign will run in Spain and Portugal until 2024 and has an investment of more than 2 million euros for the entire period. This feature is also aimed at wine professionals (importers and sommeliers), the media, opinion leaders and European tourists visiting any of the two countries for the three years.
a passion divided
If there is one area that can be proud of the quality, originality, history and tradition of its wines, it is the Iberian Peninsula. And not just because Spain and Portugal have a lot of tradition in the wine world, but also because they share something in common: a passion for wine.
What really makes Iberian wines stand out is the passion with which they are made. A shared feeling that implies the creation of the highest quality, through which it is possible to travel to the place where they come from. Because when you taste a wine from Spain or Portugal, you feel the land, the work and, above all, the long tradition behind each one of them. It is also quality transport, the climate in which they exist for quality, feeling each river, valley, quality… of the planet.
In addition, the economic sector plays a key role in the economy, social and environmental of many villages in Spain and Portugal, generating groups of sustainable and indirect jobs that go far beyond vineyards and wineries, preventing and combating rural depopulation. In fact, its positive impact is not just limited to producing countries, but also to supporting the European economy through transport, logistics and marketing activities.
